Unlimited Systems - Simplifying Revenue Cycle Management

Unlike authors of general-purpose revenue cycle software, Unlimited Systems focus exclusively on the needs of specialty providers. The team understand how a single unresolved balance can consume significant resources for both patients and clinicians. In response they’ve spent the past 15+ years honing expertise, products, and workflow support to help clients successfully navigate high value reimbursement scenarios. Unlimited Workflow Consultants combine deep knowledge of the Unlimited product set with significant industry experience. They have an average tenure of 4+ years with the company and must demonstrate proficiency with the Unlimited platform before being named to the Workflow Consulting team. Many possess focused areas of expertise, such as patient intake, charge capture, treatment authorization, patient financial assistance, and A/R optimization, which we use when matching Consultants to client engagements; the company’s goal is to pair with the best resources for meeting business needs.

The company is a group of healthcare leaders, revenue cycle experts, tech gurus, and client success champions committed to simplifying revenue cycle management for specialty healthcare providers. For nearly two decades, they’ve been delivering market-leading technology solutions proven to help oncology and other specialties automate complex tasks, reduce unnecessary manual effort, and accelerate cash flow. “Unlike authors of general-purpose revenue cycle software, we focus exclusively on the needs of specialty providers. We understand how a single unresolved balance can consume significant resources for both patients and clinicians. In response we’ve spent the past 15+ years honing our expertise, products, and workflow support to help clients successfully navigate high value reimbursement scenarios.”

A program initiated by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI), the Oncology Care Model (OCM) strives to improve quality and reduce cancer treatment costs for Medicare fee-for-service (OCM-FFS) and other plans (OCM-OP).In addition to regular Medicare payments, practices receive a Monthly Enhanced Oncology Services or MEOS fee once a patient begins chemotherapy. Intended as a financial resource to aid in effectively managing and coordinating care for Medicare beneficiaries, the $160 MEOS fee may be billed monthly for up to six months, representing a potential $960 in revenue per patient episode. The OCM features in g4 Studio automate what can be an error-prone manual process for OCM billing, freeing staff to focus on other high-value activities.

At Unlimited Systems, the team help specialty care organizations optimize revenues, accelerate cash flow, increase staff efficiency, and reduce stress on the business so they can achieve peak financial performance.

Great technology demands great people and processes to achieve optimal results. With g4 Studio, businesses get great technology. With Unlimited’s Workflow Consulting, customers can get a team of seasoned experts proven to develop successful, custom workflows across the g4 Studio platform that are backed by best practices and maximize financial results for specialty healthcare organizations. “As our client organizations evolve, they often find that their growth calls for new ways of using the Unlimited platform, or that it is creating changes to their revenue cycle teams and leadership. Likewise, the introduction of new Unlimited products and features can also drive demand for workflow consulting to help clients make the most out of new capabilities within their unique operating environments.”

This client had experienced significant growth that triggered a need to evaluate whether existing revenue cycle processes were effective in supporting their “new” organization. Unlimited deployed a Workflow Consultant for a 10-week onsite engagement. Based on findings from the assessment and recommendations from Unlimited, the client reorganized its staffing model, redeploying high value resources to more strategic activity and establishing workflow efficiencies that better supported its growing business. Having identified a potential tool, the client engaged Unlimited to assess the value of introducing another software solution into its practice. Unlimited’s Workflow Consultant conducted an evaluation determining that rather than purchase another tool, the client’s objectives could be accomplished by redesigning multiple workflow processes, including eligibility, prior authorization, registration, charge capture, claim grooming, denial management, and A/R follow up. The client was able to achieve its objectives while avoiding additional software, implementation, training, and ongoing support costs.

Recognizing room for improvement in its business office operations, leadership of a large specialty practice with approximately 40 providers called on Unlimited’s Workflow Consulting team to evaluate their situation and make recommendations for improvement. Following an operational assessment, the Unlimited team worked with the client to design a workflow that automated existing manual processes for charge capture. The result: improvements of more than 50% in charge lag and days to file in the first six months, along with measurable impact to the client’s claim rejection and first-pass clean claims rates.
